چکیده
To control the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Government India imposed various phases lockdown starting from third week March 2020. Improvement in city air quality has emerged as a benefit this India. The objective paper is to quantify health benefits due lockdown. PM2.5 concentrations nonattainment cities (NACs) Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) North were studied. Data prelockdown compared, with 2019 benchmark. Compared those 2019, during Phase 1 approximately 44.6% lower for 58.5% Delhi-NCR. impacts particle inhalation quantified using multiple-path dosimetry AirQ+ models, which revealed that most considerable improvement was 1. Among phases, exhibited minimum concentration thus greatest benefits. For selected cities, deposition tracheobronchial region human lungs showed its maximum reduction 1(30.14%). Furthermore, results highlighted decrease 29.85 deaths per 100,000 persons 1, primarily concentrations. This quantification may help policymakers implement suitable measures, especially NACs, where respirable particulate matter remain very high.
